QuantumSuccess: Watch Your Words
We’re talking about watching your words. People ask me all the time as a coach what is the first that I need to start in changing my life. Rob, what I tell them all the time is they have to watch their words. It’s not like when you are a kid. It’s not like watching words like swearing. By all means, go ahead and do that. I’m all for that. The words that we say that disempower us. For example, one of the first words I would say to change your language around is can’t. Anytime you hear yourself say can’t, we are limiting ourselves. Whenever we say, “I can’t do this. I can’t stand it anymore. I can’t afford it. I can’t wait.” These are words that are focused in lack and limitation.
I do that all the time. I unconsciously say the word can’t. You have to consciously make the effort to not use certain words is what you’re saying.
Words have power. Words are the spark of what we’re creating and the results that we get in our lives. There have been other shows going through the Law of Attraction, Energy, and things like that. The first place to start is watching your words because everything that we think, feel, believe, the things we act on, we are all like creating sparks of creation. Those sparks will create the results that we have in our lives. If you don’t like a certain situation or circumstance in your life, start at the basic and that is watching your words. What do you say about those? “I can’t make more money. I can’t get that job promotion. I can’t lose weight. I can’t sleep at night. No matter what I do I can’t seem to,” whatever it is.
When you’re saying that, your entire physical state feels bad because it’s not true. It’s something that we learn. We say it unconsciously. With those words and phrases that we say to ourselves like I can’t. It’s even like, “I can’t stand this man anymore. I can’t stand to be in this marriage anymore. I can’t put up with this anymore.” That puts us in a corner in a little box. We have no options or choices in our life when we do. When you change your language, shift your language, you feel different. Say something that you say like maybe, “I can afford it.”
I can’t get to sleep at night. That was one of my big things. If I go to bed now, I get six hours. You lay there and it’s like, “If I can fall asleep in the next ten minutes, I can get five and a half hours.” You’re up all night and you do fall asleep. What would you suggest a person does that finds himself in this pattern? First, I suppose you have to recognize that.
Any type of change starts with awareness. Even asking yourself, do I say, “I can’t afford or I can’t get to sleep at night.” Whenever you hear yourself can’t, ask yourself, what do you prefer instead? If you’re sitting there, laying in bed and you think about, “I can’t get to sleep,” what would you prefer to have?
You have to be able to fall asleep immediately, to go within two minutes in the slumberland, or have a great dream.
Get a good night sleep so that the next morning you feel like you’re refreshed and renewed. When you hear yourself say, “I can’t fall asleep,” say to yourself, “I’m going to get the perfect amount of sleep for myself tonight. I’m going to wake up refreshed and feeling renewed.”
This is going to take practice.
What happens is the words that we say also create a belief. As we say those phrases over and over again and you’ve been saying this to yourself for how many years, nights. It’s an ingrained thought pattern.
It isn’t consciously. I’m not consciously thinking that, but it happens. Your subconscious will pick that up.
Your subconscious creates everything. We have our own control over our own energy system like our own body, our subconscious. When we’re saying, “I can’t do this,” first of all, from a perspective of intension and the universe supporting you, it’s like, “She can’t.”
To practice, do I start when I lay my head on the pillow or for maybe an hour beforehand, “Tonight, I’m going to have a great night sleep.”
While you’re putting your head on the pillow, instead of saying, “I can’t,” and you start thinking of lack or “Counting down the hours now, I get four and a half. Now I get four.” I’ve been there, done that. You instead focus on what do I want instead of the can’t. People say all time, “I can’t afford.” If you ever hear yourself say, “I can’t afford,” you have to shift it to something different like, “That’s not a financial priority for me right now.”
That’s a great substitution to put in there because there are many times to say, “I can’t afford.” I can’t afford a Bentley, a new car, a bigger house, or that right now, but that’s not a financial priority for me right now.
That’s one thing is that you want to say something different when you hear yourself saying words that are limiting. In the beginning, word forms the thoughts. That sentence of thoughts that we say to ourselves. When you hear this word ‘can’t,’ let it be an energetic charge to remind yourself that I need to choose a different thought because that different thought is going to lead me towards the actions that I take, how I feel and the results that I get in my life. You’ve got to start changing your words if you want to change your life. What do you think?
I’m going to try it. I’m going to get a great night sleep.
Try is another word that we’re going to talk about another day.
We’ll try the next time we see you here on the show.
